Sag Harbor Village | House in Sag Harbor, New York
Our fabulous Sag Harbor home is a truly unique vacation spot. It is an historic 1890s house that has been renovated and extended, with one of the largest and most beautiful properties in the village.
The main house includes a spectacular master bedroom that overlooks the property, and includes an office alcove (if you need to get just a bit of work done...) and a gorgeous bathroom with a standalone soaking tub and his and hers sinks. Upstairs, there is also a kids bedroom with bunkbed and a stowaway trundle (sleeps 3) with separate bathroom; and a guest bedroom with en suite bamboo lined bathroom, which also has a standalone soaking tub.The fifth bedroom is in the basement and is very small, but does have a nice full bathroom next to it -- this room is good for a babysitter (or a teen who wants their space...)
On the main floor, in addition to a second guest bedroom with en suite bathroom, there is a modern kitchen with Wolf stove and Viking refrigerator and a breakfast eating area, which opens onto a side patio.
There is a huge family room with a large LCD TV, which opens onto the back patio, which itself is a fantastic spot for morning coffee as you sit on the outdoor sofas and look out onto the grounds.
The ground floor of the house also contains a beautiful formal dining room, a library/office (which is also a nice place to watch tv in a cozier environment), and a parlor room.
While the house is fabulous, the real draw is the gorgeous property, pool and pool house. A few steps away from the house, it feels as if you are going to your own little beach club. The 20x40 gunnite pool is surrounded with lounge chairs and a big umbrella. An outdoor table that seats 10 is situated under the wisteria-covered trellis. The 950 square foot pool house is a renovated barn, which includes a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, sink, and its own washer/dryer. One room is a big open play room, with ping pong table; the smaller room is set up as a fitness room with a full set of dumbbells, mats, and gym equipment -- it also has a pullout couch (should you need a nap) and a large TV.
The lawn is flat and plush, great for a touch football game.
Wifi operates throughout the house, and we have a multi-zone sonos music system.
The house is perfectly situated -- an easy .5 mile walk to Sag Harbor village (the best town in the hamptons, with great restaurants and ice cream on the water); 1 mile to a lifeguard-supervised bay beach; 0.6 miles to Mashashimuet park and its 10 Har-Tru tennis courts; and a straight-shot 6 mile/10 minute drive to Sagg Main beach on the ocean.
**NOTE, we would like to rent the house for the ACADEMIC YEAR: early-September to late-June. Renters can take advantage of Sag Harbor's excellent school system.
