Summary: We had an amazing time. The house has a local host, Jennie, who was incredibly fun, kind and helpful. We loved seeing the local wildlife (macaws, iguanas, crabs, we heard there was a sloth across from the market but didn't see that one) and local pets, including a nearby pony. The kids adored that part of the stay. The beach was fabulous, the water was warm and great for surfing (several rental shops in biking distance) and boogie boarding (the house had several)--there could be strong currents, but Jessica (the owner) warned us in advance. The beach was also nearly empty; it felt like a private beach! The pool was a great temperature, not cold at all but still refreshing and perfect and well-maintained. The sheets were all soft, the kitchen is well-stocked even including an air fryer. The upstairs patio was perfect for sitting together and enjoying the incredible ocean view. We enjoyed dinners and card games under the gazebo. The local host Jennie and Mendoza also knew great local seafood, caught that day, and helped translate to get fish for some great meals. There is a local market in walking or biking distance, and one about 15-20 minutes away where we found specialty things, even some vegetarian protien and gluten free options. The air conditioning is units in each bedroom; there isn't any in the kitchen/main areas. We found this totally fine, but may be helpful to set your expectations if you love AC.
