Fifteen minutes from Boone, NC or the art district of West Jefferson this 3-bedroom cabin has tall views of Elk Knob and Rich Mountain. Experience feeding deer and walking nature trails and a fishing pond within a short walking distance. Spend time reading or writing your ‘Next Chapter’ on one of two large decks that overlook woods and animals. If you like fly fishing, the New River is located at the entrance to this quiet community called Fleetwood Falls. Long celebrated for the arts, West Jefferson is known for its arts district featuring an array of interesting murals, distinctive public art, and numerous galleries. Visit the Ashe County Cheese Factory Viewing Room. Take your kids to visit the factory viewing room and see the machines at work. Next, have your photo taken by the trademark giant milk cows. Then, head across the street to get some famous cheese curds and a glass bottle of soda from the factory store to snack on while you walk around town. You can finish off your day with a refreshing local brew at Boondocks that can only be found in the tap room. If the weather is nice, step outside to the patio and enjoy the fresh mountain air. This brewery located on Main Street also keeps around 30 brews on tap with a heavy focus on North Carolina craft beers. Hillbilly Grill is good for breakfast.
