Nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains, the outdoor spiral staircase leads to the upper deck which affords sweeping views over treetops below in a peaceful sanctuary, perfect for your morning coffee spot. The expansive 450 sf of lower deck provides ample space for star gazing, reading, or soaking in the sunshine, with panoramic views of the woods all around.
The 2-story treehouse features an architecturally unique ‘cured’ beech tree (cut from the property) tastefully incorporated into the center of the 750 sf open floor plan design. Floor to ceiling windows enable light to drench the interior, allowing for picturesque sunrises viewed right from the loft bedroom’s king size bed (with a Casper mattress).
With wood floors throughout, internet, in-wall heating as well as a wood burning stove, and a private access road, this treehouse is just 5 minutes from the Wintergreen ski resort, 10 minutes from noted breweries and cideries, and only 1 mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachian Trail which offer endless hiking options. While the area offers endless “pick your own fruit” orchards, restaurants and entertainment options, you may wish to hurry home to this completely secluded beautiful space to spend a quiet day relaxing and enjoying the property, listening to the birds, taking in the autumn leaves or the mountain laurel in the spring.
Other features include: a full kitchen (microwave, fridge, oven/stove), all the interior made of natural materials including the hearth stones which are from the property, private parking, some covered deck area; granite kitchen countertops, custom cabinets, and deck furniture for relaxing outdoors.
Note:
* The guest access is via 3/4 mile gravel/dirt driveway to the private parking area. While 4wd is not needed, vehicles with a higher clearance may be more suitable.
*The treehouse is uniquely designed for adults only (two max), and is a non-smoking, non-vaping, pet-free rental.
*The single bedroom is upstairs, and the rain shower bathroom is downstairs, making this rental best for those physically able to climb stairs.
*Situated amidst woods all around, the treehouse’s location makes it a truly special nature sanctuary, with nocturnal sounds including the call of owls and other birds, occasional coyotes, and more.
*The main cabin on the property is 1/3 mi away from the treehouse. Please note the directional signs to avoid turning left toward the main cabin as it can be difficult to turn around. Quiet after 10pm, please.
