Rustic farmhouse style with a unique Japanese aesthetic, our sustainable eco villa is a quiet healthy haven with natural lime-rendered hempcrete walls, recycled timber features.
Lower floor is spacious living-dining-kitchen-study and bathroom. On the upper level is QS bedroom.
The space

The perfect rural location.... away from town, but close enough to Mullumbimby, Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads. 5 mins drive to Mullumbimby, 20 mins to Byron Bay, 15 mins to Brunswick Heads, 35 mins to Ballina airport and 45 mins to Coolangatta / Gold Coast.
Our guests have the whole villa to themselves. It is fully self-contained with separate access and its own parking area.. Access from the main road is via a shared driveway.
The north facing deck is large and perfect for sunbaking, morning yoga or meditation practice, to enjoy the sunrise or sunset views, or to watch the cows and calves traverse the paddock.
Downstairs is open-plan living room, dining, office, and kitchen.
Kitchen includes sink, 4 ring ceramic stovetop, oven, and small fridge. Stainless steel pots and pans, kettle, coffee plunger, crockery and cutlery included. Also included: olive oil, coconut sugar, salt and pepper, basic herbs and spices, tea and plunger coffee, chai, hot chocolate.
The bathroom has shower, small basin and toilet. Included: body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, hand sanitiser. There is also a hairdryer, iron and small ironing board in the room.
Up the spiral staircase is a bedroom overlooking the living room spaces below. This bedroom has a Queen sized bed with quality cotton and linen sheets.
There are many rare and beautiful species like parrots, frogs, echidnas, pademelons and other creatures. And cows!
Guest access
The guests have access to the whole villa.
Other things to note
A portable prepaid modem is provided and simple to use. The Telstra 4G Wi-fi Plus portable modem is a phone-sized modem you can switch on whenever you want to use wifi. Our phone reception is excellent so we have no problems with connectivity.
Our property is high and isn't affected by local floods. If there is flooding in Mullumbimby town, our property is accessible via Coorabell / Montecollum / Coolamon Scenic Drive.
There is absolutely no smoking inside the villa or bathroom because the natural render on the walls absorbs the smell. If you smoke outside or on the deck please take care to dispose of butts responsibly to avoid bushfires.

Regarding bugs! There are definitely more insects in the country than in the city! And if you really really hate any bugs, this climate may be uncomfortable for you! But this cabin is no worse than any other cabin in this countryside. In fact, the villa is very well situated to reduce mozzies - being on a north facing hill, lots of sun, no shady trees, open to the breeze. Most of the insects are easily managed by keeping the doors shut in the afternoon and evenings. And by using the mosquito net or fan provided. We respectfully ask guests to avoid toxic insecticides in the villa.
Rosy, our super cute small dog lives on the farm, and normally stays at the main house. She is harmless and nervous and we are training her to greet visitors quietly.
If you would like to borrow any of the following please ask in advance: Weber Baby Q BBQ; beach umbrella and 2 x low chairs; picnic basket with plates and cutlery, slow cooker.
