The space
Welcome to The Nugget, a charming and secluded lakefront cottage located on Candlewood Lake in Danbury, Connecticut. This recently renovated 1950s cottage offers stunning views of the lake from the front room, deck, and backyard, providing the perfect backdrop for a relaxing and memorable getaway all year round.
The cottage features a comfortable family room with a dining nook and lake views, a fully stocked kitchen with granite countertops and modern appliances, and a vintage bathroom with a claw-foot tub and a Maytag washer/dryer combo.
The two bedrooms are furnished with plush bedding, with one bedroom offering a king bed and the other a queen bed. The entire cottage is equipped with central heating and seasonal AC window units to keep you comfortable no matter the season.
Outside, you'll find a spacious deck with an outdoor dining table and breathtaking views of the lake, as well as a hot tub, stone fire pit, Blackstone flat-top griddle, and traditional gas grill for your use.
Guests have access to the Danbury Town Park Beach located at 36 E Hayestown Rd.
Candlewood Lake offers a variety of outdoor activities, including boating, kayaking, swimming, and fishing, and the surrounding area is home to many local farmer's markets, wineries, antique shops, and ski mountains.

We welcome you to enjoy our home as if it were yours! Our guests will have access to the entire home and outdoor space: front courtyard and deck, backyard and deck and 24/7 access to our private hot tub.

The Nugget is located in a private lake community with nearby neighbors, so please be respectful of noise levels early in the morning or late in the evening.
While surrounded by nature, it is typical to see small insects such as spiders, beetles, and mosquitos around. Please also be mindful of larger animals such as deer, hawks, bobcats, foxes, and bears when exploring the area, especially at night/early morning.
We love your furry, four-legged friends! If you're bringing a pet with you, kindly let us know upon booking as an additional pet fee will be added to your stay. The fee allows us to spend extra time cleaning rugs, other soft surfaces, and the yard. This also ensures we set out the food/water bowls and a special treat for fido!
Parking is available for up to three cars, and please note that supplemental street parking is not available and would block neighboring driveways. Parties and loud noises/disturbances are not allowed.
