THE ISLAND BEACH HOUSE is a self-catering holiday home on the popular Woodbridge Island Security Estate and is situated a mere minute's walk from a 5 km stretch of public beach.
Here, for your exclusive use, is a well-equipped single level, 2-bedroomed house which sleeps up to 6 and has its own private enclosed garden perfect for a family barbeque. Its back door is a mere 30 m from one of the three communal swimming pools on the Island and only 150 m from the Milnerton Beach while Cape Town's city centre is easily reachable just 9 km away.
The main bedroom, with a queen-sized doubled bed with excellent mattress and crisp white linen, looks out over the peaceful enclosed garden. The second bedroom with its twin single beds can also be made up as a double room with one king-size bed.
The lounge has a custom-made sleeper couch that easily folds out as a comfortable queen-size double bed. We also offer one free camper cot and high-chair for babies and toddlers.
The bathroom has a separate bath and shower, a hand-basin and a toilet and is equipped with large, fluffy towels for all guests as well as shampoo, shower gel, hand-wash and body lotion as well as a starter supply of double-ply toilet paper.
The kitchen is well-equipped and set up as a home-from-home, with most everything you need for fuss-free self-catering at your fingertips, including a brand-new hob and oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and is stocked with basics, like salt and pepper, basic herbs and spices, olive oil and vinegar, coffee, tea and sugar.
An absolute bonus is the open-plan flow from kitchen through to lounge-dining area through to the garden, which is ideally set up for long lazy breakfast/lunches or braai/barbeque on the Weber we supply. The garden is joyfully visited by a large array of birds who come to enjoy the birdbath and feeder. Here you can laze on the two sun-loungers and kids can romp freely on the enclosed grass.
If you hire a car, there is a lock-up garage as well as ample safe, secure parking near the house. But, if you are going to be relying on public transport, you have easy, quick access to the MyCiti bus service via the Woodbridge bus station (for trips to the city and surrounds) or the stop just outside the complex for access to shopping centres just up the road and the fabulous Century City shopping and entertainment hub.
Down on the beach there is much to enjoy, including a jog or long walk on the 5 km of sand that stretches right through to Blouberg Beach. This beach, called the Milnerton beach, is a popular venue for surfing, wind-surfing, stand-up paddling and cooling off on a hot summer's day. It also boasts its own lighthouse and Maestros, a lovely restaurant overlooking the beach and the city against the backdrop of Table Mountain. Few places around Cape Town supply a more picture postcard view or more spectacular sunsets.

Opposite the entrance to Woodbridge Island, is the Milnerton Golf Course, a famous links golf course bordered by the sea on the one side and the lagoon on the other.
