Feel your heart rate drop as you pull into the drive of this secluded 1920 renovated farmhouse just outside of Margaretville. Soak in the outdoors in a beautiful rural mountain environment. The house is surrounded by forest filled with pines, cherry trees, ash, and all sorts of wildflowers and creatures. Birdwatching is incredible and the house has a variety of feeders to attract migrating birds, native birds, and hummingbirds galore.
Gather around the Solo Stove on the back deck in the evening for s'mores, and lean back in the Adirondack chairs to see more stars than you can imagine. On a clear night, the Milky Way is visible, and there are great photo opportunities. You'll love the silence. The creek at the bottom of the hill is often the loudest sound and provides incredible white noise, along with summer crickets and frogs.
2.5-3 hours' drive from Brooklyn, 5 minutes off of Highway 28. The house is set up for at least two adults and four children, but could also work for four adults and 3 children, depending on your sleeping arrangements. The primary bedroom features a king size bed and en suite bathroom with a gorgeous deep soaking tub. We take care of everything you'll need, including towels, linens, basic pantry supplies, high speed internet, a geothermal heating and central air conditioning system, and a high efficiency wood stove in the living room.
