About Sunset Escape
At 1,890 square feet and three bedrooms, you will have plenty of space to make yourself at home! Sunset Escape is located on the third floor of Sandy Lane Villas on the best stretch of beach on Daufuskie Island. This unit has gorgeous views of the beach and the complex pool from the wrap-around porch. Elevator and luggage carts are available in the condo complex.
Each of the three bedrooms has a private bath and the unit boasts two “masters”, perfect for two couples traveling together. The kitchen has a glass-top stove, oven, large refrigerator with ice maker, garbage disposal, toaster, standard coffeemaker, Keurig coffeemaker, dishwasher, and a microwave. It is well-appointed with pots and pans, an electric griddle, basic kitchen utensils, and barware. A full-size washer and dryer are located within the pantry. The dining area includes a large table with seating for eight and the porch hosts seating for six.
The unit is stocked with family-friendly board games, plenty of great beach reads, and an assortment of late 90’s/early 2000’s era DVDs. High-speed fiber optic internet allows you to stream your favorite movies and shows. A high chair and Pack N Play are also available. An interior porch for the unit provides ample space to store beach items.

This unit comes stocked with starter supplies, including basic all-purpose cleaner, 1 roll of toilet paper per guest, 1 roll of paper towels, 3 trash bags, 3 dishwashing pods, dish soap, and 3 laundry pods.
All linens and bath towels are provided.
Beach towels and beach chairs for six are provided in the condo.
About Sandy Lane Villas
Located directly on the beautiful Daufuskie Island Bloody Point Beach, the villas are a six-minute golf cart ride to the School Grounds Coffee shop, a five-minute ride to Frye's Chicken and the Iron Fish Gallery, and a 15-minute golf cart ride to the public ferry dock and Freeport General Store.
You will have access to the private Sandy Lane Villas pool and beach boardwalk during your stay.* The large outdoor swimming pool is on the ground floor and comes complete with poolside lounge chairs and showers. Exit the pool gate to the private boardwalk over to the 3-mile stretch of beautiful beach.
(*Subject to COVID guidelines. The Sandy Lane Villa complex pool is operated solely at the discretion of the Sandy Lane building management and the Sandy Lane Home Owners Association. Please observe all posted rules.)
Gas Grills are located in the poolside area for residents' use.
Note: The Bloody Point Resort is currently closed, and its restaurant and golf course are not available at this time.
Important Info about Getting Around Daufuskie Island
(This part is super important!) Daufuskie is a bridgeless island and you cannot bring your car. This means more planning and preparation on your part, but it’s also why Daufuskie is so undeveloped and special! Guests must arrive by ferry or water taxi and secure ground transportation from the arrival dock on Daufuskie to Sandy Lane Villas.
The condo comes with one four passenger golf cart. The golf cart will be located at the condo by standard check-in time on the day of your arrival and be picked up by standard check-out time on the morning of your departure.
There is a small general store on the island for essentials, however, it is highly recommended that you bring food over with you or order grocery delivery. There are restaurants on the Island - Old Daufuskie Crab Co, Frye's Chicken, D'Fuskies, Up in Smoke BBQ, Island Shack, and School Grounds Coffee.
Grocery delivery service:
There are no grocery stores on the island. For grocery service, contact Low Country Grocery Runner. They will purchase your groceries and put them on the ferry you take to Daufuskie.

The cost of ferry tickets, golf cart rental, grocery delivery, and ground transportation are separate fees and must be reserved by the guest.

• The unit will be self-check-in with a door keypad. Instructions will be emailed prior to your arrival.
• No smoking in the unit or on the porches.
• No parties or events whatsoever.
• Primary guest must be 25.
• Observe all rules of the Sandy Lane Villas complex, including noise curfew, posted pool hours, and proper trash disposal.
• No more than six adult occupants.
• Sorry, no wedding parties. If you are coming to the island to attend a wedding, please find another rental.
We take great pride in our unit and seek guests who will too! We have good kitchen utensils, original artwork, and nice furniture. Please treat our home as you would your own.
