This is a stunning residence, with a chefs kitchen, private movie theatre, hot tub, and a mezzanine library and office with outstanding river views. Add to that a fire-pit, Tesla charger and A/C. Very private, yet minutes to Hudson and the other grand historic estates along the river.
The Rivers Edge is a flawless example of what can be achieved when architecture and great site design marry. You’ll notice that even the driveway unfolds and reveals the house in a way that is just not usually considered when building. It’s a brilliant introduction to the most perfect property.
Located off a quiet road on a large wooded lot, the house sits atop a hill, providing far panoramic views towards the river and the west embankment’s mountains. Inside, the modern home is geared to open-plan living, with gorgeous sunlit spaces and designer furnishings. A large double story living and dining area are framed by a wall of glass to the outside. On this level is also a great movie theatre, with snacks and comfortable seating. A popcorn machine stands ready!
For rest, the house offers three lovely bedrooms on the upper level. All bedrooms have beautiful linens and soft lighting while the bathrooms are well-stocked with toiletries, towels and hairdryers. The principal en-suite has its own deep oval soaking tub and an extra large shower. The other hallway bathroom also has a shower, but is equipped with both a baby infant bath and toddler spa bath making it ideal for families with children. Downstairs, the main level is served with its own powder room.
For lunch or dinner, the 10 minutes to Hudson will get you into the areas best restaurants or just a little further south, 20 minutes to Saugerties. Or take advantage of the homes’ well stocked kitchen, where the professional grade appliances and island seating will no doubt contribute to the makings of a great meal.
Outside, there is a patio with propane BBQ, sun loungers, dining seating, an outdoor shower, hot tub and, of course, those stunning views!

Utility Outages: As Upstate New York can see its’ fair share of inclement weather and is primarily a tree rich area with overhead power lines, please know we do not assume responsibility for utility outages during your stay. If electric, water or Wi-Fi service is impacted, we do not refund. Of course, if an outage were to persist for longer than 8 hours we would allow a cancellation without penalty.
Weather: During the winter months, there may be ice, snow, and hazardous conditions. We recommend driving a vehicle with AWD or 4WD. Please ask about the plowing schedule for the house. Most driveways are plowed at or before 3” of accumulation.
Animals and Pests: The house is in a rural environment and surrounded by countryside, farms and wildlife. Although it’s wonderful to observe the eagles, deer, bears, and adorable chipmunks, it can also mean you will hear coyotes and foxes at night, and encounter the less cute mice, flies, snakes, ants, bees and ticks. There is very little to be done about it, but by keeping doors closed or screened and food in its appropriate storage, unwelcome guests will stay outside where they belong. All our properties benefit from scheduled pest control, but we are in a natural environment and we can not fortify the houses completely.
Cleaning Guarantee: We are very proud of our housekeeping team who go above and beyond. Because of their hard work and high professional standards, we are able to guarantee our cleaning to our guests. We take time stamped video and photos of the cleaned property and do not refund for any small issues found during a stay. Instead, should a guest feel that something is amiss or needs additional attention, we will gladly have a housekeeper attend the home to take care of it within 12 hours of an issue being reported.
Rental Agreement: Please know that we require all guests to sign a rental lease agreement.
This house has two levels and may not be suitable for guests who don’t wish to use stairs. However, it does have ground/ main level bedrooms and bathrooms.
Early check-in: When available, we love to allow our guests an early check-in to get your vacation started asap! Unfortunately, during peak times, this isn’t always possible. But please ask, we will always try.
