"Sa Rata" is simple and sumptuous at the same time. The almost square villa is located 2 km east of Búger, slightly elevated on more than 24,000 m² of land, and surrounded by wide fields with the Serra de Tramuntana behind them. There is a subtropical flower garden, banana trees, shrubs and ornamental palms surrounding the shaded terrace, and an XXL pool with outdoor shower that is rarely found in this length and will make not only dolphin (swimmer)s want to jump for joy. An air with a touch of colonial style envelops the property; but unfortunately there is no house maid with tea and cakes going down the seven stair steps while you meet under the white, airy shade tent on a green lawn, and no diligent servant brings the fruit cocktails to your sun beds. Only the straw umbrellas are at service and even the small grill house has a little table for you, but you must still cast the set-the-table spell. However, there is something fabulous about being able to spend your Mallorca holiday in total privacy in this lovingly cultivated plant paradise.
Inside you perceive the traditional influences; while life takes place primarily out of doors and the garden has such an abundance of plants, the rooms are rather more functional and easy to maintain. A few choice (often inherited) pieces of furniture set the emphasis: the spacious living area around the fireplace and TV contains pieces of antique gems, such as the sideboards and secretaire, and a rustic dining table with wonderful woody grain; the pictures on the walls and the covers of the armchairs are típico español. There is plenty of space here, ideal for guests traveling with children. The other rooms are also stylish; small, curved decorations give the dark wooden beds (one of which is a double bed) and the chests of drawers the necessary lightness; there are two bathrooms (one with shower and washing machine, the other one with shower bath) in addition to the outside shower, which is very practical and accessible from the terrace as well. "Sa Rata" is family-friendly uncomplicated!

The movie business has already been a guest at the impressive caves of Campanet on the other side of the Ma-13. The art-filled Pollença and the famous promenade of Port de Pollença, as well as the beaches and dune landscapes of the Badia d'Alcúdia, offer attractive access to sea and coast; there is also something on offer for sturdy shoes, such as the ascent to the summit of the Puig de Maria or the easy hike from the Port de Pollença to the bird-rich Cala de Bóquer.
