Summary:
Private, peaceful and perfect for anglers and kayakers alike! This retro throwback offers a private dock and ultra easy canoe and kayak launch right in the back yard, with direct access to Boulder Lake! Large windows throughout the house provide lots of natural light, beautiful views of mature oak trees, wildlife and the waterfront. Snowmobile and bike trails are right outside your front door giving you endless opportunities to enjoy everything our beautiful Northwoods have to offer.
The Space:
Ours may have wood paneling, but this home has it all and more to come! The main level has 1.5 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, a full kitchen, and main living room with wood burning fireplace. The basement includes a full bathroom with a washer/dryer, 2nd living room and 2 twin beds in the common area. There is a 2nd full kitchen in the basement, but that is reserved for the homeowners. Guests are expected to use the upstairs kitchen. The large back yard is surrounded by large, mature hardwoods and borders the Manitowish River, with direct access to Boulder Lake. There is small non-motorized boat launch and private dock for guests to use. In the center of the yard, there is a firepit for you to kick your feet up and relax in your wooded retreat!
For your winter entertainment, we’ve added 4 sets of snowshoes to use during your stay and for summer, we added 2 kayaks and a row boat! Leave the bulky equipment at home and enjoy the water without the hassle!
The Manitowish River and Boulder Lake are locally known as Muskie country. Great fishing in the northwoods can be found steps from the back yard. Launch your boat from the well-maintained public boat launch nearby, and enjoy the luxury of docking on our private dock. If your passion is fishing, this is the house for you!
Guest Access:
Guest has full access of the house except the basement kitchen, that is reserved for the property owner's personal use. The garages are also unavailable for renter use at this time.
The Neighborhood:
Quiet wooded neighborhood, with lots of wildlife, near bike and snowmobile trails. Our private property is right on the Manitowish River, and a 5 minute drive into town. Boulder Junction hosts numerous amazing restaurants, bars and unique northwoods shops, plus an amazing farmers market in summer.
Getting Around:
From the launch in the back yard, you can paddle on the Manitowish river downstream, or to Boulder Lake. For fishermen, you can launch your boat at a nearby public launch, and dock at our private pier.
Down the road is a paved walking/biking trail that connects Boulder Junction to Manitowish Waters, as well as a well-groomed motorized trail connecting you with a series of trail networks throughout Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula.
That 70s Place boasts a large driveway that will easily fit a few trucks and trailers.
Other Things to Note:
There is a 2nd full kitchen in the basement, and that is the property owners kitchen. Guests are expected to use the upstairs kitchen only.
