Harbor Island is a gated private island that boasts almost 3 miles of beach. It is located less than 15 miles from historic downtown Beaufort.
Here you will find peace and serenity as you walk along the unspoiled beach. There are many different species of birds that nest on the south side of the island. The Loggerhead turtles nest on this and nearby islands.
Hunting Island, a state park, is two miles south and it is a favorite attraction for many Lowcountry visitors. There is a lighthouse and great trails to run or walk that keep cool during the summers due to Hunting Island's beautiful tree canopy.
Historic Downtown Beaufort is a must see! The town is a friendly, walking community with many boutiques and restaurants. The marina and waterfront is an easy place to take the family and enjoy ice cream or just stroll along the park. There are many Historic homes that are nationally registered and absolutely fascinating to learn about during a carriage tour.
